How can I begin to explain to you, that the most exciting part about this blog post is yet to start, even though it’s already published (?)
Every time one of you sees this post… it comes to life.
Like the doves conflating with the clouds above, and every shape your imagination gives them spontaneously. You can interact with it, or just let it fly away :).
Who likes questions?
I like questions!!! 😀
So, I figured: rather than perusing some sophisticated takes… I’d like for you to join me in thinking through some.
(Feel free to post any thoughts on the comments, that’s what makes it interesting!)

What is “music to our ears” ? I think there’s more than meets the eye to this one.
Whenever we hear ‘what we want to hear’, music comes to mind. We have a taste in music because we’ve acquired it, either through someone, by bumping into it on the street or an algorithm that feeds it to us. But what is a ‘taste’ in music?
The classic: what do your tastes in music say about you?
Ever met someone more interested in knowing who you follow on Spotify rather talking to you? Well, whether words or music are more your thing; the songs we listen to have a meaning, because something about us finds something about them meaningful. What about you?
Where did you first hear about it?
Was it from family members? College colleagues? Highschool teachers? Public performers on the streets? Or was it “The luck of the radio”? I can’t wait to hear all of your perspectives!! 😀
Do you find these questions to be more distracting or diffracting for your attention? —Or what?
It is my first blog post ever, so please let me know what you think about this format!
Do you too find it hard to name only one favorite band?
No doubt, for many the answer is clear-cut; but sometimes I feel there is more to be said. Rather than staying something like “X band is better than Y”, I love to be able to share conversations where both of us relate why we like these bands, where they landed in our story,… Do you also want to talk about more than one band? 🙂
What about other names and categories?
The difference between “A band”, “A classical-orchestral composer”, “A soloist”, (in Spanish: “Un cantautor”, “Un cuentacuentos”), “A troubadour”, “A pianist”, “A pop star”, “A singer”, “A poet” … All of these are different, and I believe we could have our list of “top most listened to”; and then have our top 3s, top 5s, 8s…, 10s… 100s… (Who knows? 👀)
And what about the lyrics?
Songs which have lyrics can communicate messages with a whole different effect than plain text. Sometimes it feels best to simply sing along rather than wait for someone to listen to our problems… But we may not need to go that far. What do lyrics mean to you?
Has their meaning shifted overtime?
Have you found yourself coming back to certain songs that speak to you in a way nothing else does? Have those songs been “there for you” at “that moment”? Have they perhaps been growing with you, growing on you…, and so your interpretation for them has become something entirely different today than it was years ago?
What would happen if somebody listened to all of those songs with you, and felt the things they make you feel; together?

Thank you for reading this far, take care 🙂
